Demelza’s north facing garden was very tired and overgrown when they purchased the property. It needed completely re-designing to give it a new and practical lease of life.
With young children it was a high priority to create a safe area for them to play and include a place to store toys and garden furniture.
As a keen lover of wildlife, Demelza also wanted to ensure that the new planting scheme was both suited to a shadier garden whilst still attracting the birds and bees.
After some time working closely with Hollie the new garden design layout was agreed on and work was set to begin early the next year.
The team spent 4 weeks in total, completely ripping out the old garden and rebuilding it to include a new dining area at the rear of the house with a bespoke log store and bin tidy. Two large timber sleeper planters framed the top tier patio area with Acer’s, Mahonia’s, Hebe’s and Red Robin’s. All fantastic bird enticing plants.
Integrated sleeper steps then lead you down to the lower tier with a wide lawn area for Demelza and Neil’s two small children to play safely on.
To the right of the garden the team lay an additional patio area where the family can enjoy the evening sun surrounded by beautiful bright borders.
Finally two storage sheds were neatly positioned on the left of the garden to store all the children’s garden play toys.
What was once a dreary north facing garden, is now a pretty, carefully considered space!
