This project began in an unusual way…
Neil contacted MH Landscapes to replace his fence after it had been damaged by the storms at the beginning of the year.
During the initial quote, Neil’s wife Lesley, starting talking to us about her garden ideas. She wanted to transform the dead space at the back of the garden with a raised patio that could host a large summer house. Lesley had always dreamed of having her “perfect” garden, with a brand new lawn, summer house and stylish flowerbeds. So, she decided to bite the bullet and get us to come back and completely make over their garden for her.
Our first task was to clear the area of the bushes and existing lawn, to create the blank canvas. Once this had been done the footings for the shed base could be marked out. This was no easy task as the garden was currently on a slope and needed a lot of top soil so it could be built up to a flat level. A whole week was spent building a strong foundation for the shed base to be built on – and the finished project was a perfectly flat and even patio ground for the new, stylish summer house to be erected on top of.
The next task was to mirror the flower beds on the right hand side of the garden, on the left. For this, Madoc Walling was used giving the garden a rustic, country feel.
The final task was to level the lawn area to hide the foundations of the flower beds and subtly slope down to the doors of the summer house. Finally, lush new turf was laid completing the makeover.
Lesley and Neil now have a larger, more usable garden that they can both enjoy for years to come.
We are thrilled with the new garden. Matt’s energy and enthusiasm was so encouraging and it was such a pleasant change to have someone so well spoken, educated, trustworthy and confident working at our property. In addition his patience was a real comfort when I needed to slightly change plans or needed him to explain what was happening. We shall have no hesitation in recommending MH Landscapes and will no doubt be using you again in the future – Lesley and Neil
