Richard’s Split Level Sun Deck

Richard is lucky enough to have a south facing back garden and he and his wife wanted to utilize this by having a decking structure built leading out from their french doors.

Before MH Landscapes began the work on Richard’s garden, there were “dangerous and narrow” brick steps that lead out and down onto the lawn. Richard felt that with young grandchildren around this just wasn’t a safe option anymore.

The first thing for us to do was to  take them away and replace them with a wide wooden step that would lead down onto his large sun deck.

Due to the height of their home above the garden, we decided rather than create a simple one level deck, with steps leading to the lawn, we would build 2 separate tiers that would gradually lead downwards and create a more interesting design. Once this was completed the structure only needed one additional step down onto the lawn area.

Richard and his wife then lined the edge of his new sun deck with lovely potted plants to add a splash of colour.

MH Landscapes have now given Richard and his family a safe route to their garden and an extra room to their home that can be enjoyed all year round.
