When we first arrived to take a look at Mitzi’s garden and discuss her ideas, we were pleasantly surprised. There was a lovely manicured lawn and mature trees giving her plenty of privacy. Mitzi explained that she loved being in the garden but that it was just not providing the family with what they really wanted.

They wanted to grow vegetables. They wanted to sit out in the sun in the evenings. They wanted to dine alfresco and walk directly out of the house onto a warm deck. They liked the idea of a small water feature to listen to that would enhance the tranquil atmosphere.

Taking this all into account, Hollie (design) set to work creating a beautiful garden design to fit all the family’s requirements and then the team set to work building it.

Mitzi’s garden was transformed with a curved sandstone path wide enough for them sit and enjoy where the sun hits the garden in the evenings. A pressure treated deck extending directly from the conservatory for alfresco dining, illuminated with solar powered lighting. An electric silver sphere water feature which trickles onto a gravel surround. A large sleeper flower bed leads up along the path to the back of the garden where we built a vegetable growing and compost area, screened off by trellis panels at the edge of the lawn.

Thank-you very much for our beautiful garden. Despite the appalling weather and ground conditions of our garden you have done a fabulous job. It took a long time to finish because of the soggy ground but it was worth waiting for – we have had envious comments from friends and family.
Everyone involved has been polite, helpful, clean and tidy – please thank all the other gardeners who helped on this very muddy project.
