Adam’s garden was previously positioned on a very steep, inclining slope that was prohibiting him from getting much use out of it. MH Landscapes have worked on several neighbours of Adams in the hilly Caversham area and were able to offer Adam a long lasting solution.
We advised Adam to have a major excavation of the hillside and flatten the area to open up a patio dining space. Adam was keen to make the most out this space and sourced a beautiful stone fireplace that would sit proudly as a focal feature on the patio. The remaining slope was retained with the rocks that we excavated out of the hillside and the pizza oven was built with the flint. We then created a sweeping staircase leading up to the higher tiers of the garden.
The paving option used here is smooth Natural Sandstone in Kandla Grey.
Although this was a gruelling job, with approximately 30 tonnes being removed, the result speaks for itself. A fantastic outdoor space that has transformed their garden and will no doubt contribute to many happy times for years to come.
